Denny Doherty, Cass Elliot, her first husband James Hendricks, and Tim Rose, By the summer of 1964, the Mugwumps had assembled, with Elliot, Hendricks, Doherty, and Zalman Yanovsky. The group was signed as The Mamas and the Papas."
